Premium Night with a Cherry on top!

Premium Night is often the dining highlight of our students’ month at UW-River Falls. Home style meals and grill items are replaced with high end steaks, poultry, fish & vegetarian products.

Preparations have already begun in the Kitchen, where I found Resident Dining Manager Jim Falk & Sous Chef Jocselyn Enloe putting the final touches on our Chocolate and Vanilla Mousse Bar desserts.

Congratulations to Amanda for winning this Holiday Polar Bear from Coca-Cola & Sodexo!
The polar bear spends its life on the Arctic sea ice where it hunts, lives and breeds. Unfortunately, the sea ice is melting at an unprecedented rate, and the loss of habitat is now the polar bear’s greatest threat.As the sea ice retreats further and further each summer, the polar bear loses its primary hunting ground and may be forced to spend months living off stored body fat until the sea ice forms again in the fall. This period of limited food availability can last more than 3-4 months in areas like Hudson Bay in Canada. At the current rate of melting, experts predict that there will be no ice in Hudson Bay by 2080 and—if current warming trends continue—some populations of polar bears could be lost within the next century.

We Heard You!

Have you seen any of our “We Heard You” signs around Riverside Commons and Pete’s Creek Market? It’s to let you know that, well… we heard you!

We appreciate everyone who took the time to take our survey on your dining experiences thus far, and we have started making the changes you have asked for already!

For those who asked that we not serve hamburgers and grilled cheese everyday… we’ve got you covered! On Tuesday’s there will not be hamburgers, as we will be featuring a rotating hot sandwich. On Thursdays, we’ll hold off on grilled cheese to make room for your favorite reuben’s and melts!

To all of our pasta regulars, we hope you have enjoyed the addition of our Pasta Toss! We’ve also added a 3rd sauce to the station to keep things fresh and exciting.

And finally, our quesadilla-lovers. We heard your cries of disappointment that we were no longer offering quesadilla’s for transfer at dinner, which is why we’re bringing them back every Monday and Wednesday! But for those who enjoy our home-style options, we’ll see you on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
